The Alexander Koenig Museum in Bonn offers visitors an engaging insight into the Earth's most important ecoregions with its permanent exhibition "Our Blue Planet - Life in a Network". For the "Rainforest" habitat exhibit, inSynergie produced two binoculars that show a film of an elephant herd.
The binoculars were mounted at different heights so that both small and tall visitors could have a comfortable view. Visitors can turn the binoculars left and right, allowing them to scan the image and discover new details.
This required specially tailored media technology and programming: A sensor detects the rotation, and software then horizontally shifts the film's image accordingly on the built-in 7" monitor.
