The House of the Mountains in Berchtesgaden offers a unique interplay of architecture, exhibition, and the surrounding landscape. It was recently opened by Bavarian Minister-President Horst Seehofer. The "Vertical Wilderness" exhibition is designed as an abstract landscape panorama with an ascending pathway. Visually and acoustically, visitors explore the various habitats offered by Berchtesgaden National Park: water, forest, alpine pastures, and rock. Changing lighting moods and cinematic projections correspond to the four seasons.
