After a four-year construction period, the exhibition space at the August Horch Museum was doubled by an extension that tells the second part of Zwickau's automotive history. The Trabant, in particular, receives more attention than before.

The new building houses the "Auto Union Racing" chapter, which welcomes visitors. The centerpiece is a 30-minute multimedia presentation of a race featuring Auto Union Silver Arrows. Spectators watch this from rows of seats modeled after the Berlin Avus grandstand, including the acoustic experience offered by the streamlined racing cars.

Naturally, the new section of the permanent exhibition retains the museum's concept, devised by the Zwickau agency Ö-Konzept: not to present cars lined up like in a garage, but to place them in immersive scenarios, complemented by meaningful multimedia content.
