The interactive exhibition at the Westphalian Salt Worlds in Bad Sassendorf allows visitors to experience regional salt history and the health benefits of salt/brine.

The Hellweg region between Unna-Königsborn and Salzkotten was and remains a salt region. For over 3000 years, the highly saline groundwater, or brine, was used for salt production. The history of salt has shaped the region and left numerous traces. This history is showcased at the Westphalian Salt Worlds.

The exhibition offers many interactive stations where visitors can participate and try things out: examine salt crystals under a microscope, taste and smell different salts, operate a miniature graduation tower to extract brine, and much more. Visitors learn about the effects of salt in the body, as well as the surprising uses of this everyday raw material.
