The Mark Twain Center for Transatlantic Relations was established in 2018 at a historically significant location, initiated by the City of Heidelberg. Its focus is the "Heidelberg Perspective" on what has connected Germans and Americans for centuries. Since May 2022, the center has been permanently open with the multimedia exhibition "Join the Story."
The media technology for the new facility was installed by inSynergie GmbH. This includes 80 iPads, projectors, media players, audio technology, LED technology, Wi-Fi access points, and beacons.
Visitors receive a tablet at the reception desk, which guides them through the exhibition and whose location can be determined at any time via beacon technology. This enables the automatic display of location-based content and much more.

In the recording booth, visitors can record a video of themselves.
Particularly exciting is the strategy game, a table-shaped exhibit that offers four tablet holders on each of its two sides. In the center of the table are darkly tinted cover panels with a relief map of the world, beneath which LED video modules are horizontally integrated. Furthermore, the game consists of display towers with controllable LED backlighting and loudspeakers.
Visitors form two groups: the two adversaries of the Cold War. All participants receive a role on their tablets. The gameplay on the tablets is supported by the other elements on the table.
The exhibition is controlled via a central NeuroomNet installation by inSynergie.
