Arkuos Center - Langreo, Spain

Discover an ultra modern youth club with broadcasting station!

In Langreo, a city close to Oviedo in Asturias (Spain), the Arkuos Centre was inaugurated on October 7, 2021. On 1250 square meters a youth centre has been created in which children and young people are extensively supported and prepared for professional life. The non-profit organization FundaciĆ³n Cruz de Los Angeles commissioned inSynergie Iberia with the planning and implementation of the entire media and control technology for the center and its outside connections. InSynergie Iberia realized the administration, monitoring and control of this demanding project with NeuroomNet, a central network application.

Visitors to the centre register in the entrance area and then have access to a user portal via an RFID (radio-frequency-identification) wristband. This wristband also allows access to several experiences inside the physical space.

Arkuos Centre has a professionally equipped radio and television station where young people are trained in job profiles in the media field. At the same time, they produce television and radio content and inform about the events in the youth centre. They stream transmissions from the central event area, which has a stage, a lighting system and several projectors, or cooking shows from the professionally equipped kitchen where Michelin-starred chefs give cooking lessons to the young people. The shows can be broadcasted live on Arkuos own streaming TV station and also displayed on the monitors and projectors that are placed throughout the youth centre. Brightsign digital signage players allow for automatic or interactive playback of various content across multiple zones on different displays. Content from local, networked and streaming sources can be displayed simultaneously.

Since the target audience is children and teenagers, special emphasis is placed on security and privacy protection. Every user is made aware that they can be filmed by both the security cameras and the streaming cameras.  Already during the user registration process, they get informed about the privacy policy and data protection information of the centre. A document with the privacy statements is automatically sent, which must be digitally signed by the recipient. In the case of children under the age of 14, their guardians also receive this message.

Transmissions and video conferences use network-based AV over IP (Audio-Visual over Internet Protocol) via a separate WLAN and are thus possible at any time, from anywhere in the building. All common video conferencing systems such as Skype, Teams, or Zoom can be used.

Modularity and interoperability characterize the entire concept. As a Microsoft partner, the open workshop has the Azure system (Microsoft Cloud Services) at its disposal. Young people work with Lego Mindstorms, Arduino and Scratch, they use VR (virtual reality) and develop here, for example, an irrigation system, including sensors, for their own greenhouses. The irrigation system is then integrated into NeuroomNet and managed, controlled and monitored via it.

Workshops and information events are held in the automotive sector. The presentation of the first electric bicycle developed in Spain took place during the opening week here at Arkuos.

Several rest areas equipped with sofas, a bar area with non-alcoholic drinks modeled on a asturian "chigre", a climbing wall, an art room and a play area for the little ones ensure a healthy alternation between learning and relaxation.
